Дедлайн 6 жовтня вже діє
FMCSA надала carriers 60 днів після відкликання п’яти ELD 6 серпня. Цей перехідний строк завершився: починаючи з 6 жовтня 2026 року, carrier або driver, який продовжує використовувати один із цих devices, порушує 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1) щодо record of duty status. Які п’ять ELD залишаються відкликаними
Під час перевірки 7 жовтня всі п’ять devices залишалися у live FMCSA Revoked ELD List: MOONLIGHT ELD — model MRS, identifier MRS255; HGRS ELD — model HGR, identifier HRS169; HIGHEST ELD — model HIG4ES, identifier HIG385; TRUCKFORD ELD — model TRS, identifier TRS263; Sparkle ELD — model PT40SIM, identifier SPARK6. Звіряйте одночасно device name, model і ELD identifier, а не лише icon, vendor name або invoice.
Paper logs більше не є перехідною заміною для цих devices
До deadline FMCSA дозволяла paper logs або logging software як тимчасовий міст під час заміни. Після 6 жовтня це не дає права dispatch truck із відкликаним ELD. Справжній malfunction зареєстрованого compliant ELD має окрему procedure за 49 CFR 395.34; не можна називати revoked device “malfunctioning”, щоб обійти його registry status.
Що зробити перед наступним dispatch
Не випускайте vehicle в рейс із будь-яким із цих п’яти devices. Встановіть replacement із поточного Registered ELD List, активуйте driver profile, перевірте truck та carrier identifiers, виконайте test display і transfer records, збережіть historical RODS та supporting documents. Driver має знати, як показати і передати logs інспектору, а carrier — письмово підтвердити, який compliant device використовується.
Не плутайте окремі хвилі відкликань
Ці п’ять devices мають October 6 deadline. Для десяти інших ELD із July 9 removal notice enforcement deadline настав 8 вересня. Carrier із кількома trucks або vendors повинен перевірити кожну installed unit окремо, бо однаковий provider account або app icon не означає однаковий model чи enforcement date.
Практичні наслідки для українських водіїв
Правило застосовується до конкретного ELD незалежно від citizenship, мови, visa category або immigration status водія. Українському company driver варто сфотографувати Device Information screen із model та identifier, письмово повідомити safety manager про збіг із revoked list і не приймати dispatch до встановлення compliant replacement. Owner-operator відповідає за перевірку live list, збереження records та робочий transfer до початку рейсу. Цей deadline сам по собі не змінює CDL, medical certificate, U4U parole, TPS, EAD чи work authorization.

The October 6 deadline is now active
FMCSA gave carriers 60 days after revoking five ELDs on August 6. That transition period has ended: beginning October 6, 2026, a carrier or driver continuing to use one of these devices violates 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1) concerning the record of duty status. FMCSA states that safety officials should apply the CVSA Out-of-Service Criteria; the agency has not published a separate extension of the deadline.
Which five ELDs remain revoked
When checked October 7, all five devices remained on FMCSA’s live Revoked ELD List: MOONLIGHT ELD — model MRS, identifier MRS255; HGRS ELD — model HGR, identifier HRS169; HIGHEST ELD — model HIG4ES, identifier HIG385; TRUCKFORD ELD — model TRS, identifier TRS263; and Sparkle ELD — model PT40SIM, identifier SPARK6. Compare the device name, model and ELD identifier together—not only an icon, vendor name or invoice.
Paper logs are no longer a transition substitute for these devices
Before the deadline, FMCSA allowed paper logs or logging software as a temporary bridge during replacement. After October 6, that does not authorize dispatch with a revoked ELD. A genuine malfunction of a registered compliant ELD follows the separate procedure in 49 CFR 395.34; a revoked device cannot be labeled “malfunctioning” to bypass its registry status.
What to do before the next dispatch
Do not dispatch a vehicle using any of these five devices. Install a replacement from the current Registered ELD List, activate the driver profile, verify the truck and carrier identifiers, test the display and record transfer, and preserve historical RODS and supporting documents. The driver should know how to display and transfer logs to an inspector, and the carrier should document which compliant device is being used.
Do not confuse separate revocation waves
These five devices have the October 6 deadline. Ten different ELDs covered by the July 9 removal notice reached their enforcement deadline on September 8. A carrier with multiple trucks or vendors should inspect each installed unit separately because the same provider account or app icon does not establish the same model or enforcement date.
Practical implications for Ukrainian drivers
The rule applies to the specific ELD regardless of a driver’s citizenship, language, visa category or immigration status. A Ukrainian company driver should photograph the Device Information screen showing the model and identifier, notify the safety manager in writing if it matches the revoked list, and decline dispatch until a compliant replacement is installed. An owner-operator is responsible for checking the live list, preserving records and confirming a working transfer before the trip. This deadline does not by itself change a CDL, medical certificate, Uniting for Ukraine parole, TPS, EAD or work authorization.
